The records of the Erie City Iron Works are heavily weighted to accounting records. No records survive from before 1864. Account books are relatively complete for the period 1864-1890. Summary financial statements are available for the period 1871-1923 with some gaps. Purchase and receiving records include invoices and invoice books (1877-1883) and scattered inventories (1864-1918).
